Ahm and Craig receive insulting gifts from relatives, venture through google seeking answers to age-old questions, and put on something skin-tight for a functional, unsexy reason.

In this episode, I used some bits from Anni Rossi's new album, Heavy Meadow, distributed by 4AD Records. I bought the album from emusic.com. I recommend it, as well as her previous albums, Rockwell and Scandia.

I totally get the lift and seperate buttocks issue.  Maybe that's your calling Ahm; design underwire sports shorts etc.

Also, I consulted with a friend in the UK who said folks pronounce Adidas the same way we do.  Sorry Craig but that was freaking hilarious!  My favorite bit from the latest podcast.  Keep it up!

People taking really cool science and explaining it in an understandable way (without dumbing it down or focusing on the "cutting edge" stuff just because it's cutting edge) pretty much describes Radiolab to a tee. If you haven't listened to it before, I highly recommend it. The only problem with it is that episodes come out really slowly, but when you first start you can go back and listen to all of the past episodes.

Plus, it would be awesome for you to do something similar, Ahm, because you have such a lovely voice.

KAP:

I can imagine working in a butt-bra laboratory, having fleshy women run on treadmills while we film them in ultra-slow mo, observing flesh-motion patterns and testing the latest ripple reduction technology.

Also: I learned that Germans pronounce Adidas kinda like Craig does, but with more of an "ah" sound: Ahddie-dahss

Thanks for writing!

Yes!  We are really late to the bandwagon, but Craig and I just got into Radiolab in the last two weeks or so. I was aware of the show, but I had only heard a sample and I was initially turned off by all the flashy editing techniques.  Now that I'm more used to it, I can enjoy the really excellent content without being overly distracted by the effects.

The semi-recent episode called "Words" pretty much blew my whole mind out of my skull.  I am looking forward to listening to them aaaallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll (echo sound effect slowly fades to a robotic throb).

Oh! While we are on the topic, here is a link to a three-minute sound show that Craig made the other day, inspired, in part, by Radiolab :

P.S. Thank you for saying my voice is lovely.  I have a hard time accepting compliments and will assume you are saying my voice is lovely because you think it's terrible. Wink  It is extremely difficult listening to my voice while I'm editing the podcast. I cringe so hard.  Embarassed

I can't press my eyelids and see shapes. I could however create shapes like triangles or messed up looking rectangles when I was little. They would float around and it was always red. I hated it when I was a kid because it kept me up at night, but now I would love to do that.
